A pronoun is a word that is used instead of a noun, so that you don't have to repeat the same noun over and over again. For example, instead of saying "Mary looked at Mary in the mirror and fixed Mary's hair" you can say "Mary looked at herself in the mirror and fixed her hair".
The basic pronouns in Mi'gmaq are listed in the table below.

Another type of pronoun is indefinite pronouns, which are words like 'someone' or 'anything'.
